HORSCH has introduced the all-new Omnis FT into its North American primary tillage line.

Based upon principles of European primary tillage techniques, the Omnis FT features a unique frame design that offers versatile options for all soil types and conditions. HORSCH MulchMix Technology gives the Omnis FT the ability to loosen soil up to a depth of 10 to 12 inches, lifting soil and mixing the entire soil profile both horizontally and vertically.

Wings can be installed for shallow work of 5 to 7 inches, giving a thorough fracture across the working width. Operators can remove the wings for work deeper than 7 inches.

A range of options are available depending on working conditions and individual needs. A choice of rolling basket, leveling tines, or a three-bar heavy harrow complete the rear of the Omnis FT, pending the desired soil finish. An optional rear hitch is available for towing a fertilizer caddy or pull-type finisher, or the unit can be ordered without anything on the rear.

Omnis FT is available in working widths from 11 to 26 feet.

John Deere has released a 20-3 software update for its Generation 4, 4600 CommandCenter displays.

Prior to the update, farmers could use John Deere Machine Sync to automate the combine unloading process during grain harvest, so they could focus on harvesting or other machine functions. Update 20-3 includes additional capabilities so John Deere Self-Propelled Forage Harvesters can leverage Machine Sync functionality to fill carts on either the left or right side of the machine or directly behind the forage harvester.

In addition, Machine Sync can now be used during the harvest of other direct cut specialty crops such as potatoes or onions, when harvest equipment is pulled with a John Deere tractor and unloads directly into a commodity cart also pulled by a John Deere tractor.

John Deere Machine Sync is currently available to order as part of the Automation bundle of applications for John Deere Premium Generation 4 Displays.

Deere and Company released on Wednesday a fiscal 2021 forecast that put next year's income in a range of $3.6 billion to $4.0 billion (fiscal year ends Nov. 1). In the year ahead, Deere expects to benefit from improving conditions in the farm economy and stabilization in construction and forestry markets, according to John C. May, chairman and chief executive officer.

"Higher crop prices and improved fundamentals are leading to renewed optimism in the agricultural sector and improving demand for farm equipment," he said. "At the same time, we are looking forward to realizing the benefits of our smart industrial operating strategy, which is designed to accelerate the delivery of solutions that will drive improved profitability and sustainability in our customers' operations."

Deere's worldwide sales of agriculture and turf equipment alone are forecast to increase by 10% to 15% for fiscal-year 2021.

In the just-ended fourth quarter, Deere and Company reported net income of $757 million, compared with net income of $722 million on year ago. For fiscal 2020, net income attributable to Deere and Company was $2.751 billion, compared with $3.253 billion in 2019.
